11 Feb Navigating Low Mood & Seasonal Pressures
Winter months and seasonal transitions can often prove challenging for emotional wellbeing. Leaving the holiday season behind, the pressures, fatigue, and stress from that period can linger. The media and social expectations frequently prescribe how we ‘should’ feel and act, creating immense internal pressure to perform happiness even when we feel exhausted or low.
In the UK, extended periods of dark, cloud-laden skies can deeply impact physical energy and mood, sometimes leading to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). When biological lethargy combines with shifting family relationships and personal milestones, re-evaluating life can feel overwhelming.
Whatever the season means for you, it is essential to pause and take stock of your needs, your boundaries, and your fears. Give yourself permission to do only as much as feels comfortable and nourishing for your wellbeing. You do not have to navigate difficult emotions alone.
If you are struggling with low mood, sadness, or personal challenges, therapy can provide a calm, non-judgmental space to explore what is going on.
